Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Level 2 Software Developer to join our team in the Property & Casualty Insurance industry. The ideal candidate is collaborative and has strong expertise in the Microsoft tech stack. As a Level 2 Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support the operations of our insurance business. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver high-quality code within established timelines. This position requires a proactive mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering value to our customers through innovative software solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software applications following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, and SQL queries to support application functionality and performance.
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to ensure code quality and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing software applications, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Work closely with QA analysts to ensure thorough testing of applications, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development, and share knowledge with team members.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and quality.

 

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a software developer with at least 2 years of experience in the Microsoft tech stack, including C#, SQL Server, and Angular.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and software development best practices.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Basic understanding of Property & Casualty insurance domain concepts, including policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, and insurance regulations.
  • Experience supporting production environments

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of SQL and database.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure) and microservices architecture.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AINS, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate)
  • Insurance industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, AINS, AIS).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
